Hope you had a great weekend!
Today I have two amazing nail polishes on the blog- Picture Polish Mallard & Picture Polish Columbia. Picture Polish is Australian brand, that makes amazing polishes- it is getting on the top of my favorite brands quite quickly, it is able to create my dream colors, with shimmers, or without, glitter, cremes, jelly, whatever you can think of! The polishes I have swatched are not an exception.
Picture Polish Mallard is a dark green full of orange and green flakes amazeness, full of depth and beauty. It is exactly the duck color. The polish was created with collaboration with Jen – one of my favorite bloggers, the creator of The PolishAholic, and I gotta admit – she did a great job!
Opaque in 2 coats, swatches are with top coat.
The other polish you see is Picture Polish Columbia, from the Rocky Horror Nail Collection. Columbia is deep red jelly glitter red. Something like a Christmas red, like those red balls toys you hang on the Christmas tree, and when the lights are on you have this holiday and cheerful sparkle! Amazing color, bright, bold, sexy, and opaque in 2 coats. I know it is not quite the summer nail polish , but who can resist that beauty?!? I couldn’t , and that is why this post will be quite picture heavy
Amazing polishes, a must-have for every nail polish addict!
Have a great week!
Today I have a swatch of one Sally Hansen nail polish – Dive In 280. The color is from the brand’s Triple Shine line. It is a green-blue creme, something like the color of the Tiffany boxes. The consistency is quite good- it covers completely on 2 coats, and it dries pretty fast. No problems with the wearing, it usually lasts without chips for at least 5 days, or until I change my nail polish.
For the swatches I did some nail art with flowers, and I used China Glaze Petal to the Metal.
I thought the color seems familiar, and just browsing through my stash briefly I found some very close nail polishes. The pictures below are in natural sunlight, and with flash, so that you are able to see better how close or not some of the polishes are to Sally Hansen’s Dive In.
The closest one I will say is China Glaze For Audrey, and H&M Bella’s Choice. Models Own Turquoise Gloss is much greener, and brighter, the same as with Isadora Atlantis.
My verdict – not some unique color, if the price is good, and you don’t have the classic /a.k.a China Glaze For Audrey/ go get it, it is a perfect nail polish for not so hot summer days
Today I have a swatch of one of the nail polishes from Chanel Fall 2014 (Collection États Poétiques)– Orage. The color is described as ” grey blue”. In fact I am not able to see the blue part in it. For me the color is very dark grey, smoked, with subtle silver-ish shimmer, leaning to black. Almost as a dark grey you see when you are drawing a picture with a pencil.
For the swatches today I used nail art stripping tape, with China Glaze Thistle Do Nicely. Unfortunately some of the strips smudged a little, so my apologies.
The application of Chane Orage was good, it dried fast, and it needed 2 coats to even.
My verdict- a perfect autumn color, I was not able to find close dupes in my stash.
